Core exercises

This will give you core exercises that will burn and give you a heap of confidence within yourself! This information will also tell you some parts of the upper torso and what exercises to do in order to get in good shape.

Core exercises

Abdominals

Rectus abdominus

  • Location: covers the area from the sternum all the way down to the pelvis bone.
  • Function: Pulls the upper torso to the hips
  • Exercises: Crunches, sit ups or hanging leg raises

Obliques

  • Location: Side of the waist. Internal obliques, transverse obliques, external obliques
  • Function: Tilt and twist the torso.
  • Exercises: Side bends, bicycle crunches, russian twist, decline oblique crunches

Serratus

  • Location: Between front abs and lats.
  • Function: Pulling the scapula forwards and around like in the motion of throwing a punch.
  • Exercises: Barbell pullovers and cable crunches
