Guidance and Counselling Support

Guidance and Counselling Dept. Ballymakenny College

Over the coming weeks we would like to reassure all students that they can still avail of the support of their assigned Guidance Counsellor. We are available to give support for stress management, anxiety, how to prepare for exams, how to normalise this new reality, have a timetable, be disciplined etc.

Students can contact us by email from their school email during normal school hours. If any student is under 16 we would ask that your parent/guardian emails us first consenting to you contacting us digitally.

We would encourage students to stay calm, face the new challenges as they present, maintain a sense of routine: (shower, dress, create a separate work/study space, take regular breaks, talk to others use social media/phone etc...stay connected with your support group); keep up with class work; log on to your school's online platform and engage with their school work daily; parents can use "guardian access" to their child's online work and support this process; continue with hobbies and get fresh air.

Parents/Guardians we would encourage you to listen to you children's concerns and support in finding solutions to challenges that work for the family.
