Transition Year Bonding Trip

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We have decided to proceed with our planned TY Bonding Day on Thursday, 8th October.

Please note the following details:

Consent Forms and Medical Questionnaires to be returned to class tutors by Thursday, 1st October. Any concerns or dietary requirements must be outlined on the consent form.

  • Students to meet in the PE Hall at 08:00 on Thursday, 8th October
  • Students will return to school by 18:30.
  • Provisions should be made to have students in school by 08:00 and collected at 18:30.
  • Students will be physically distanced and wearing face coverings to/from Carlingford with buses operating at reduced capacity as per government guidelines.
  • Students will be divided into groups of 15 for activities on the day and the adventure centre will adhere to all government guidelines.
  • Lunch will be provided for 2 groups (30 students) at a time in a large marquee to allow for physical distancing
  • Mobile phones must be locked away in a safe and secure location in the adventure centre upon arrival for the duration of the day. Students should leave phones at home if not content with this arrangement.

What to bring on the day:

  • Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor adventure activities. (Tracksuit/leggings/shorts etc.). Denim is prohibited in the centre.
  • Spare face covering and hand sanitiser.
  • Swimwear for under wetsuits and old footwear for water activities.
  • Change of clothes.
  • A towel and shower gel/deodorant.
  • A plastic bag for storing wet clothes after water activity.
  • Lunch provided but students are advised to bring snacks and a drink.
