Acting Deputy Principal Vacancy - Please note that this is an internal appointment.

The Board of Management of Ballymakenny College invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Acting Deputy Principal to take effect from Monday 4th January, 2021.

To qualify for appointment candidates must have;

  • A recognised post-primary teaching qualification;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ satisfactory teaching experience and
  • Registration in accordance with Section 30 of the Teaching Council Act 2001

Ballymakenny College is a Community School established in 2014. It is a developing school with enrolment increasing to 930 pupils in 2020.

Classes are of one hour duration and mobile technology is an integral part of teacher and student classroom participation. Applicants who are called for interview may be invited to demonstrate an example of innovative use of a mobile device to advance teaching and learning.

Interviews will take place in the school or Online..

In light of current restrictions interviews may take place using ZOOM.

Interview candidates are advised:

  • to test the device that they will be using for the interview, including connectivity.
  • to ensure that you have a quiet place with no interferences for the interview.
  • that no one else should be present in the room with you during the interview.

Candidates should also be advised that it is their responsibility to ensure they have access to the required software, device and connectivity to facilitate taking part in the remote interview.
